The setting at River Rest is magnificent. Nestled in the majestic redwood trees overlooking the river I was both comforted and awe-inspired by nature's wonder all around me. We really appreciated the privacy and the hot tub was great; very soothing. The house was extremely pleasant and more than ample for the four of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and the view from the kitchen sink even made doing the dishes pleasant. Although we enjoyed some great hiking in the area and an afternoon canoeing on the river, it was hard to leave the house. Loved it. We can hardly wait for our next visit.

We feel that Riverrest is a very appropriate name. On our visit we found it to be clean, secluded, quiet and tastefully furnished including a well equipped kitchen. Plan on spending lots of time relaxing in the hot tub located on a deck overlooking the valley and river below. Our three days was not enough, we plan on returning soon for a longer stay.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at river rest. We enjoyed both lazy days of lounging and enjoying the scenery, and more activity exploring the larger environment. Both was beautiful!

The first time I stopped by to view this property, I planned to stay only a few minutes. The view from the back of the house arrested me and I didn't leave for half an hour, even though it made me late for my next appointment. I found wild strawberries in the back yard and apples in the upper garden.
On subsequent visits, I spent even more time among the redwoods, playing fetch with the dog in the yard (this is a great place for pooches!) and taking in the clean air. I was pleasantly surprised to find a really good restaurant, Cape Fear, about five minutes from River Rest, and some beautiful hiking trails in the next town, Jenner, about 10 or 15 minutes away. There is apparently lots more to explore, which I look forward to. It's the perfect antidote to city living. Warning: It will be difficult to return to concrete and car alarms!

Loved this place! This place has great energy and is extremely conducive to relaxation. Fully appointed with everything you need...right down to the coffee filters! One note...bring your phone calling card, as outgoing long distance calls are blocked.
